When Grey first learned how to box, it was because of all of the dumb fights he had been getting into with people since coming to America from Barbados. He got into fights in Monroeville, especially when he used his ability to make himself lighter. It was always a way to get away from orderlies if they had to grab a broom to get him down from the ceiling. But then it was like everything was in hyper focus. His whole body felt like it was electric with energy and great ideas. He got stick in Monroeville for much longer than he wanted to from his ability's repercussions. They told him that he was bipolar and he fought against the diagnosis the whole time. It was just his ability, he told himself that the whole time he was there. They tried to discharge him with these mood stabilizers and all of the vitamins of the alphabet. The prescriptions went unfilled and he got a pair of ratty old boxing gloves from Carver while he was at Phalanx. He trained, he worked hard, and it brought him to the ring on a daily basis. He fought through the side effects of his ability, wanting to train helped get him out of bed when he was feeling down. It helped burn some of his extra energy when he was manic.
Grey spit out his mouth guard and took a deep drink of water from his bottle. He was supposed to meet up with Mal for some food, some talks, and Supernatural binging. After a lot of pleading and some literal prodding, she got him to watch the first few episodes and he was hooked. He put his water bottle and gloves into his bag and went towards the showers to clean up. He cared deeply for Mallory and he didn't want to disgust her out of her own apartment. He showered quickly, the old spice body wash doing quick work out of dismissing the nearly toxic sweat smell from his skin. Grey turned off the water, dressed, and picked up an order of sesame chicken for his carnivore platonic soul mate, and tofu lo mien for himself.
The final trek to Mallory's apartment was simple enough and made even better when she gave him a key. Grey let himself in, placing the bag of food on her kitchen table, "Babydoll, you here?" He asked, going to the kitchen to find the chop sticks that he knew were stored in there, "Gotta start that Supernatural back up, I gotta know what's going on with this demon shit."
