As far as Ben is aware, his entire life story began a few days before the autumn term began, due to an unfortunate mishap that wiped out his entire memory, leaving him with full retrograde amnesia. He doesn't know about the event; all he knows is that he woke outside in front of a club with no name, no identity, and the only clues to his past was a locket around his neck that read, "BEN". He took it as his name; half-correct. He was given the surname Smith at Phalanx House, a placeholder as good as any other, but it gives him no insight into his past.
Despite this, he's friendly and cheerful, curious and eager. You won't find a better friend than Ben, because he needs them desperately, clinging to any new connections to quell the void. He'll talk to anyone and share what he has. Be his friend.
He is a powerful telekinetic with spotty control, due to three and a half years' worth of training wiped away with his name, his address, and any knowledge of his family. I love powers mishaps and shenanigans, so throw what you will at me!
He's been at Phalanx House for the entire autumn term. Before that, he was a student at Primrose Academy under the name "Bradley Newhouse." Long-term students or faculty from Primrose would recognize him if he ran into them outside of those walls. I'm up for creating past relationships - friends, enemies, etc. - as well.
In addition to friends, shenanigans, or possible past connections, I would particularly love if an adult was to mentor him. Mentor/mentee plots fill my heart with warmth on a cold night.
(Also, I apologize for the title. I like puns and Pixar.)
Okay so I cannot resist this, because Eppie would be Ben's teacher BUT she is also a way to see into the past. As someone who carries her past with her all the time, she might be a little concerned about his lack thereof. She wouldn't be able to unlock his memories or even see them, since his connections to them are severed. She may offer to get general ideas from his necklace but probably not much. Either way, she would definitely be there to encourage him, teach him, and try to help him with his powers in general!
Hello! I was about to reply to your plotter but you got me first. I'm excited by the prospect of having them thread together. Eppie, I think, would be a grounding force for him, not only as a teacher but because of her warm personality. With her power, he might give her his necklace at some point to try to do a reading, particularly with holidays on the horizon which could light a bit of a fire under his feet.
What is her favorite book? I promise that he will read it so they have more to talk about outside of her classroom - eager beaver that he is.
I was already planning in the discord! Yes, Eppie is definitely a rock of a person for her students, and she'll adore Ben's bright and bubbly personality. She would relish to get to know and have him trust her enough to help him with that predicament.
Full confession: I haven't thought about it. She definitely enjoys classics, weird secondhand books type of person. She probably really likes Persuasion by Jane Austen, Wide Sargasso Sea, those types of books. I can think about it more and she can recommend it to him!

hey brad, welcome to the forum and thanks so much for posting in my plot page! i took a look at ben's app and i agree-- i think he and jude would get along really great! they're close in age and both like music and so they should definitely hang out at phalanx a lot! would love to put them together... i think a meeting thread would be fun. let me know what you think!

Emilian is a Primrose student, so if he saw Ben he'd recognize him, they could have been close friends or friends. They could maybe run into each other somewhere or something to that effect.

I like this idea. Let's say that they were friends at Primrose and instead of meeting back up to talk about summer breaks and showing off pictures, Ben never showed up and nobody's heard from him. He'll be so confused but delighted to meet anyone who recognizes him while out and about. He also probably won't believe that he was rich.
For when, I have no preference, but if I'm starting, it might be for a bit. If that's fine with you, I can try to bang something out soon-ish, but you're welcome to start whenever, if you like!

let's do it! jude is super friendly so as cliche as just "running into each other" would be, maybe it would work? haha. would ben go hang out in a communal area? jude would play guitar in that area. or jude works at the quarter cafe so if ben goes there, jude might say hi since he's seen the guy at phalanx a few times? either of those work?
