Jude still couldn't believe he was at Phalanx. Everything had happened so quickly. That part shouldn't have surprised him-- he'd had enough siblings go through the motions before him that the whole family knew exactly how to handle it. Still, it was one thing to watch it happen to someone else and a different thing entirely to experience it.
Blue had always been Jude's favorite color, but now he was growing to despise it. It reminded him of the cold... of his fingers as he lost control of his temperature regulation. He'd gotten through life relatively conflict-free thus far-- now it was time to make up for that.
"Come on," he muttered, picking up a blade of grass and trying not to freeze it. Unfortunately, not freezing anything was proving to be rather difficult. This time was no different, and the blade curled and hardened, little white crystals spreading across its surface.
"Thank you," he said sarcastically, tossing it aside and pushing his fingers through his silver hair. Silver was usually his go-to color, but lately, he wasn't too fond of that one either.
The sound of someone approaching stole his attention. His head jerked up and his eyes darted to the person's face, widening slightly. "Uh... careful," he warned, glancing at the ground in front of him before looking back up at the person. "It's icy... the ground. And some of that tree there. Everything's icy--" he trailed off with frustration and a bit of embarrassment. "I was just... trying to not... do that," he explained.
Being at Phalanx was like a weird dream. It was the freedom of finally being somewhere he felt safe. It was the freedom of being around someone as beautiful and warm as Aisling. It felt like a paradise. His siblings were still scattered to the winds, but Jaxon was working on getting them all reunited. He walked back into the enclosed yard of Phalanx, after a few hours of scanning crowds in the French Quarter for them. He was close to straight up knocking on doors to see if they were in there, but Astor kept insisting it was a bad idea.
"Icy huh? Guess that makes you the Jack Frost around here, huh? Even got the white hair to show for it." Jaxon got a bit of a start and skillfully slid in his sneakers on the ice, taking a few steps when he finally reached the end of the icy surface.
Jaxon took a seat on the grass across from Jude and grinned at him, "I'm Jaxon, relatively new here, but I think I came with a wave of new faces." He held his hand out for the Jack Frost and crossed his legs to stay comfortable on the grass. Sure there were patches of ice everywhere, but at least it looked nice. When he would set everything on fire it would be beautiful while it was enflamed. It danced, it swayed, but it never stayed that way. Even the largest house he set on fire eventually collapsed and became a pile of ash and soot.
Ice at least stayed pretty and then it melted away like nothing had been there.

The whole thing still kind of freaked Jude out, so it was kind of a relief that the other boy didn't seem offput by it. He grinned, nodding at the comment. He'd been compared to Jack Frost a few times already and was certainly happy with the nickname. Jack Frost was cool, figuratively and literally.
"Yea, I guess. I've been getting that a lot," he said with a chuckle, his teeth flashing for the first time in a few days. "I've always dyed my hair and now I feel like I should stick with this color." It was becomming sort of a signature thing for him and who was he to tarnish his reputation?
He watched Jaxon skid, wincing slightly as he pictured the guy taking a tumble onto the ground. To his relief, his new companion seemed to be a lot more coordinated than Jude had given him credit for. He took Jaxon's hand, grinning again as his icy fingers made contact with Jax's-- the other fingers feeling like fire in comparison. "I'm Jude... it's really cool to meet you," he said eagerly. "Yea, I haven't really gotten the chance to meet anyone yet, really. My brother and sisters go here, though. Teddy, Nellie, and Pru?" he informed, curious as to whether any of them had met.
"So... you're new too? It seems pretty fun here," he offered. He was a bit shaken up by the whole thing... the changes he was going through... but Phalanx seemed like a place that he could call home pretty soon. "What can you do?" he asked, definitely curious to know what kind of abilities other people possessed. He and his siblings had all been very different, after all.
Jaxon knew that there were people in Phalanx with all sorts of weird abilities and things that were dangerous and scary. That there were people who could change their bodies into other people or into giant beasts, being able to make a sidewalk slippery seemed to be the least problematic ability in a house like this. Though he would be interested in seeing if Jude could make a snow day for them. Growing up in Seattle, they were on the side of the mountain range that got rain and overcast skies. The other side was a desert with snow storms. He always wanted to have a white Christmas.
"Kinda a signature look at this point. Why mess with it?" He asked, looking over some of the frozen grass blades that Jude had made. "What other colors have you done? I've thought about going dark or even blue. I don't think I would be able to keep up with it."
Jude's fingers were ice, and he knew that he was always warm. Aisling always joked that she didn't need blankets when he was around and that they were going to have to come up with a new sleeping arrangement when the summer time hit. "Nice, I don't think I've met them yet, but it's cool you have a whole family here with you." He missed his siblings more than anything, he just wanted them back.
"Yeah, I got to New Orleans a few weeks ago and stumbled into this place." He grinned when Jack Frost asked what he was able to do and leaned over with just his upper body to gather a handful of frosted blades of grass. "I am the fire bug to your snowflake." he teased and set the blades of grass on fire in his hand.
