full name ♦ Eliot Scott Davies nicknames ♦ El, Elio age ♦ Sixteen birthday ♦ February 17th 2002 occupation ♦ Student school ♦ Phalanx species ♦ Human
ability/power ♦ Omni-linguism how the ability works ♦ Having the ability to speak and understand every language there is to know, it’s a lot to take in at 16. Eliot is able to speak and understand fluently any spoken language heard from an individual even if it’s a language that is no longer used. Not only this but he is also capable of understanding, though only understanding, writings or nonverbal languages such as computer code, sign language, body language and even animal communication in some cases.
Though it doesn’t take him much effort to do this, he is still limited to only being able to speak verbal languages. This means he can obviously not speak computer code verbally. He is also still quite young so some languages he hasn’t come across before might take him longer to decipher and learn compared to more common languages.
As for body language, Eliot can only judge what he sees. Though he might see someone acting completely confident pulling off a lie, it doesn’t mean he can spot a lie straight away based on how they’re acting when they’re acting just fine. Reading body language has lead to him to be very observant with people, able to read what they want to say before they’ve even said it in some cases.
Eliot is also capable of understanding animals though cannot mimic sounds to replicate the language, but what he can do is determine moods based on the animal’s actions. For example he would be able to understand warning sounds from a bird call to other birds. However, Eliot has not practiced much of this so he is a bit slow to work out what’s what.
If something was extremely difficult to decipher for him it can lead to a headache and quite a bad one. Similar to a migraine mixed with overthinking something in a stressful situation, is what it could be described as.

overall personality ♦ Eliot has always been a pleaser, attempting to make others feel better or to get others to like him. He is not a fan of conflict and in fact would rather sit on the side and watch things go by instead of being the centre of attention. He's not confident in himself and can be hesitant to do things but he'll try to push himself into situations if it means to make someone feel better and make himself stand out less. This making him quite selfless and empathetic in situations, able to see both sides of the story which also plays towards his ability to read body language better than others. Him being more quiet also makes him extremely observant of situations and people. More of an optimist Eliot is one to try keep a smile on his face to ensure others don't bother him how he really feels, hoping to appear as your average person.
Though not severe, Eliot does have some trust issues and won't really go into anything without knowing as much as he can. Dependent on his siblings when it comes to social situations, he is still quite independent with a lot of other things. He learns quickly and is not a risk taker but getting things for himself is a task he is able to achieve without the help of others, leaving him a bit of loner in some cases. A patient person, he is perfectly content in his own comfort.

overall history ♦ TW: Descriptions of childhood abuse, domestic violence
Eliot’s mother had already conceived 3 children, that being his two brothers and sister, though each one being a result of a different father. From a young age, his mother worked as a sex worker alongside caring for her 4 kids. By the time Eliot was walking and observing the world around him, he began to see how each one of these 5 people would live and cope in this environment.
When you’re young and surrounded by something that is constant, you’d start to consider it normal. Eliot considered certain things normal within his life. Countless times had he walked in on someone getting brutally yelled at, hit, kicked whatever. Each time Eliot encountered such a thing he’d suddenly be involved in some way, either getting roughly dragged into it or shut out. Slowly he began to rely more on himself or his siblings for things while he was scared of being around his own mother in fear that she’d also be accompanied by someone who really would hurt him just for making eye contact.
Still extremely young, Eliot often wandered around the apartment and had passed one of his brothers with a black eye. Yet he struggled to understand why it would be a common sight and if it really was a normal thing to be cautious of entering from one room to the next. Other times he’d find himself being dragged into the bathroom along with his two siblings and locked in by his oldest brother while shouting was heard on the other side. Although finally it all stopped. Next thing he knew he and his siblings were hauled into a new building, one with a lot of people a similar age.
Around six years old Eliot was adopted into a family who already had a son. He’d tried his best to be liked by another individual different from his siblings but it only backfired on him with the first hit, escalating quickly over time to where he’d try stay away and to be found and locked in a small space or just beat up. One time, being the worst, was when he refused to do something and resulted in him being shoved against a wall and then locked outside in the cold. As a kid who was only six years old and turning 7, he managed to be more and more quiet each day alongside giving up on new people altogether. Developing a dependence on his siblings to be his friends more than anyone else.
He’d been placed into another home yet it quickly burned down. Pulled out of school and being told that his home had burned down so unexpectedly felt like fate. The family wasn’t in the house at the time but it served them right. This was the worst one of the lot. Eventually finding out it was his brother’s plan to burn this house and the next four other homes they were put into, Eliot never was scared of his brother doing all this. In fact it made him feel more reassured that anyone who harmed any of his siblings or him would meet karma.
However, it all just stopped. His safety was taken away from him. His oldest brother was put in juvenile court and the rest of them were adopted into a new family in New Orleans, Louisiana. Eliot kicked up a fuss about it out of fear of having no more protection, fear of losing his brother and fear of having to live with a new family.
Growing older and beginning to really take in his surroundings, Eliot spent a lot of his time rethinking past events and understanding more clearly of what happened and why. His brother and sister had explained a few things to him about what had happened since he was too young at the time to really understand what was happening behind closed doors.
As Eliot became more of an observer he began to pick up on little details, which was nothing abnormal. But what was abnormal was how he could pick up on what people would say that his sibling just couldn’t understand. He was slow at first to piece together what certain words in different languages meant but he never had to be taught any of them to know. His brother came back into mind, Eliot wondering whether his oldest brother was either an “arsonist” or something more than just that.
Now at the age of sixteen, Eliot has just been accepted into Phalanx house though doesn’t really want to face anything more than his family, preferring to just stay with his siblings.
