full name ♦ Lucia Opal Lovelle nicknames ♦ Lucy, Luce, Loosh age ♦ eighteen birthday ♦ november 2, 2000 school ♦ Monroeville species ♦ human ability/power ♦ Precognition how the ability works ♦ Lucy has the ability to glimpse the future - though those abilities aren't exactly 'stable.' There's no set parameters (that she can determine thus far) that trigger her visions. It can be people, places, things, smells, anything.
Lucy's visions can be rather disorienting - they can come to her in many different ways. The most peaceful are visions she receives during her dreams, but they can be hard to dissect and hold on to. Waking visions are easier to process, but very scary while she's going through it. Future and present seem to meld together with Lucy the only common factor between the two. To the outside eyes, Lucy glazes over and begins wandering around without any regard to her surroundings. To Lucy, for a moment in time, she is living in the future. She can interact with the objects, people, anything in the environment. It does not affect what is to come - it's more like she's sleepwalking and in a dream-state. With her total disregard for the present environment, Lucy has gotten herself into a lot of trouble, and caused more than one accident from her aimless wandering.
When Lucy comes up from a waking vision, she is disoriented. Everything around her feels only half-real, and there can be gaps in her memory. It's like that moment when someone is half asleep, and all of their dreams seem to be in the real world - except Lucy is awake and the feeling lasts much longer. gender ♦ female (she/her) sexuality ♦ heterosexual
the appearance
face claim ♦ Allison Harvard height and weight ♦ 5'10" & 128lbs identifying features ♦ any scars, piercings, tattoos or birthmarks overall appearance ♦ Lucy has suffered from the effects of being locked in Monroeville for far too long. She is undernourished, her features have sunken in and her face is gaunt. In Monroeville she wears large mono-colored t-shirts or sweaters with sweatpants. Her hair was once a brilliant white gold - now looks a dull, pale yellow. Lucy's trademark are her giant blue eyes that can see everything. Once bright and beautiful, are now clouded and dark with the knowledge of days to come.
the personality
likes ♦ sunny days, fresh fruit, watching Star Trek on TV days, grilled cheese Sundays! dislikes ♦ medicine time, experiment time, stark white walls, overcast days strengths ♦ quiet/stealthy, and how could you ever say no to those huge eyes, she does get glimpses of the future and that can be something very useful in her corner weaknesses ♦ diminished sense of reality, non-confrontational dreams ♦ escaping Monroeville and being a well-adjusted member of society fears ♦ dying in Monroeville overall personality ♦ Lucy is a very bright and happy young woman, though touched with a bit of melancholy. She tries to remain optimistic, despite being locked up in Monroeville. Lucy makes friends with the other inmates patients, spends her days coloring, watching TV, and basking in the sunlight - when the orderlies allow it. Lucy is shy of confrontation, but quick to mediate potentially dangerous situations. She's got a bleeding heart and would rather take care of the person next to her than focus on her own problems.
the history
father ♦ Neville Lovelle, 46, high school teacher mother ♦ Hannah Lovelle, 44, baker siblings ♦ Teddy ____ Lovelle, 20, Phalanx Pepper ____ Lovelle, 16, Phalanx Anna _____ Lovelle, 16, Phalanx Robbie _____ Lovelle, 15, Phalanx important people ♦ n/a hometown ♦ Augusta, Maine overall history ♦ Lucy was the second born to Neville and Hannah Lovelle. She has an older brother, by two years, was followed by a pair of female twins, and then one last boy for the Lovelle's. Neville and Hannah both had a deep love for the Beatles, and named all of their kids after songs and albums by their god band.
Growing up, Lucy led a normal life. She went to school, had some friends, hung out with her brother. Everything was perfect. Until her older brother began showing signs that he was different. Teddy was fourteen when he learned that he wasn't like the rest of the kids at his school. Lucy didn't understand why their parents were so excited. They said they would tell her in due time - until then, Lucy didn't get to see Teddy much anymore.
It wasn't actually terribly long after Teddy left that Lucy had her first... Experience. It was the last one she would have in Maine.
Lucy had been playing with her younger sisters - street hockey. She was thirteen, they had just turned twelve. They had been rolling around the street when suddenly, everything around Lucy got this certain... Haze. Almost like a glimmer. Confused, Lucy looked around for someone - anyone. She found someone, a little further down the street, lying mangled in the middle of the road. Lucy just approached the body and recognized the white golden hair when
WHAM
Pain erupted throughout all of Lucy's body. For a moment she felt herself flying - the next was met with the cold hard pavement. Noise of the real world finally caught up to her - the screaming of her sisters, someone slamming a car door. Then nothing.
Amidst the darkness in the dreams, Lucy saw one thing flash before her over and over. Monroeville. Monroeville. She had to tell her parents, she didn't know why, but they needed to know. Monroeville.
When Lucy woke up Hannah and Neville were by her side. Relieved tears streaked Hannah's face, Neville just held Lucy's hands tightly. Apparently the twins had told them everything - everything they saw anyway. That Lucy had dropped her hockey stick, completely ignored the two of them, and just walked into oncoming traffic. It was a miracle she wasn't dead.
No, no, that's not what happened! She protested. Lucy saw someone in the street - she had to help them... But it was her. She was the one she saw in the street. Monroeville. Lucy felt like she was going to be sick - did she see the remnants of the accident before it happened? She told her parents everything. They were skeptical, but with their genetics it stood to reason...
Before they could make a decision on what to do with Lucy, a representative from an experimental hospital in Louisiana came to see them. A representative from Monroeville Hospital. Of course! Lucy saw the vision, she needed to go to Monroeville. It was in the stars. They told her parents that Lucy was at a higher risk because of her powers - that this might not be the last time she walks into oncoming traffic due to her abilities. She could seriously get hurt. Monroeville was established to help kids like her. To control their abilities, and be released when they got the grasp of things. Lucy was so excited - it sounded like a resort to her.
And so she was sent off. It took some time for her to heal, but they had doctors at Monroeville that helped with that. Everything was fantastic for about the first year. Lucy's visions became more frequent, but she was monitored. There was no walking off of the roof or into cars. It was good.
Until the tests began.
Lucy wanted to help at first, of course. The tests were to better understand her powers, how to help her through them. She wanted to get out to see her parents and siblings, didn't she? So just one more experiment would do.
Lucy is eighteen now - her visions don't seem to be letting up anytime soon, but she has gotten slightly better at differentiating real life and visions. She doesn't like Monroeville anymore - they are not her saviors, but her captors. Even though Lucy realizes this, she also knows she wouldn't last long enough to do anything about it outside of the pristine white walls - if Monroeville didn't come after her, she'd somehow manage to wander into the bayous never to be found again. For now, she'll stay at Monroeville. Until a better option appears.
