Lennox, being the proud Scotman he was knew that there was only one thing suitable for his night with Andromeda at Primrose Prom. The package came earlier in the week, special order from a small tailor in Edinburgh. He dressed with pride and checked himself in the mirror that was often held hostage by Sebastian's vanity and constant struggle with his curly hair. No matter how much he wanted to deny it, thoughts about Bash only seemed to lead to thoughts of the fairer of the Hallewell siblings. He was in a fierce competition with his asshole friends and these feelings were getting in the way. he scoffed as he adjusted his kilt in the mirror and sighed- feelings was even too strong of a word. His musing about Scarlett. His ponderings about the potential between himself and the only person who seemed to beat him in every video game.
Tonight wasn't going to be for Scarlett. Tonight wasn't going to be about thinking about their times playing video games, or spending time watching movies, or spending time together in town. Tonight was about being with Andy. His point. He was getting laid without issue, that was never the problem with his sham of a relationship with the blonde nympho. It was getting her to say that she loved him. He would have an easier time getting her to spread the cheeks than he would getting her to be in love with him. Lennox adjusted his hair and shot a text to Andy that he would be right over to meet her at her room.
Even pretending to be a gentlemen was exhausting and all he wanted was to pretend to shower her in a fantasy of faerie lights and dancing. He wanted to show her that he was a sweet gentleman who cared oh so fucking deeply for her. He left his room, his high socks, his shiny shoes, the black and green tartan. He was ready for a night out with the hottest piece of ass that Primrose had to offer with the lowest self-esteem to match it. He knocked on her door, ready to see what she was going to wear for their evening together.
Andy looked dat herself in the mirror, wondering for the millionth time if the tulle and lace dress that clung to her curvy figure was, well, too much. She had always been a fan of high fashion, of couture that most people were left wondering if it belonged on a person or on a stage, and this was rather tame compared to all of that. Still, the silver dress was a masterpiece of gray tulle and silver embellishments that mapped out nature elements along the hem and bodice of the dress that she opted to wear. However, she had a bit of a reputation for dressing scandalously, and that was not something that she had foregone. True to her nature, the detailing on the bodice of her dress offered a rather scandalous amount of skin; more than she was sure most people were used to seeing from her. As she finished fastening the last silver button at the base of her spine, she looked at herself in the mirror. The dress felt lighter than air, and with the light makeup, simple hairstyle, minimal jewelry, and the plain silver stilettos on her feet, she felt like a princess.
That was how every girl was supposed to feel at her prom, but over the past few years she had felt less like a princess and more like a pauper every single time. This year would be different.
However, there was something about this night that was giving her pause, and she couldn’t help but wonder if that had something to do with her partner. Her whole relationship with Lennox was great. She was definitely enjoying her time with Lennox, it was just that… the relationship was very much a physical one. There was nothing wrong with that, but there were times when she wondered if there was more to them at all, and her feelings just weren’t there yet. Hopefully someday they would be, but she wasn’t sure right now. The fact that she was thinking about all of this on prom night worried her a little, but she forced herself out of that mindset and prepared for him to get there, feeling the nerves beginning to claw at her stomach.
When there was a knock at the door, Andy smiled and made her way to it, opening it to find her boyfriend on the other side, looking effortlessly handsome as always. Except this time, she knew that there was effort involved, judging by the kilt that he wore. She knew that there were people who would tease him for “wearing a skirt”, but those people were childish and idiotic at best; he was representing his culture, and if she had any kind of a formal wear that would do the same, you better believe it would be draping her figure right now. But it wasn’t, because she was pretty sure the Chicago Hawthornes were not any kind of a recognized clan or culture. So instead, she settled for looking gorgeous. “Hey.” She looked up at him, feeling the familiar swooping sensation she got every time she saw him. She was attracted to him, she did like him, any feelings of doubt or concern were ridiculous. “You look amazing.”
Andy was interesting. At least she had that going for her. She was interesting and she could hold up a conversation better than most of the bimbos that he dated. In the end, she was still a bimbo. She was still a blonde with no respect for how she should be treated. She didn't care that he would spend time with Scarlett playing video games. She didn't care that he spent time with Meme who he dated, and Thea who would suck and fuck nearly anything that passed her by. Andy just didn't seem to care about any of that, and he liked to keep it that way. She didn't need to bother herself with his life because he wasn't going to be around her for very long.
He expected her to cave soon enough and say those three little words that would set him free from her.
A night like this, it was easy to fall into the magic of things and say things that should be weighing on her by now. With all of the charm and wit he was wasting on this relationship, he could only imagine what would be able to do with all of the wasted energy he was pouring into her. He laced his shoes, excited to show off his kilt set to the adoring masses of Primrose. He waited outside of the door for Andy to open up. He had no feelings for her, she was basically a warm mouth. She was ready, willing, and desperate to do most things and it was what made him want to go after her in the first place. What was better than an easy fuck with no self-esteem?
The door opened and there she was in a plunging neckline, she looked beautiful. He knew that he was going to be in envy of every man at Primrose during the prom, and he also knew that tonight he was going to lay on that mushy shit that usually got him what he wanted from women he dated. "Me? You look..." He took a step back, really taking in the dress and looked into her eyes, "You look beautiful, Andy. I'm so lucky to have you with me tonight." He kissed the top of her hand and then laced his fingers with hers, "Wanna head down so I can make everyone at Primrose jealous you're with me?"
