how the ability works ♦ Born into an ancient lineage, EZ was gifted with ability to transform into hippopotamus. When shifted, EZ becomes a large purplish-gray hippo standing at six feet tall with a fifteen foot span. Weighing just over three and a half tons and bred to be a warrior, his hippo form is among the high tier for size and power. Though with this great ability comes a dangerous side effect, EZ's aggression is nearly unmanageable for him. As Emem (hippo form), his anger/animal instincts take control sending him on a rampage attacking anything and everything in his path whether it be a being or object. The few times that he has been able to maintain control when transformed, EZ tends to behave like a typical hippo and laze about in a pool of water.
When not transformed, Ezekiel is gifted with thick skin and denser body that helps protect him from physical attacks. He also has increased lung capacity allowing for him spend extended periods of time under water. Due to the nature of the hippopotamus, EZ tends to eat a significant amount more than the average human, usually needing to have 5 to 6 meals a day.

Above average height, EZ tends to wear light and loose fitting clothes to avoid the southern height. He keeps his head clean shaven just like his ancestors. The only hair he allows to grow is his short trimmed beard.

dreams ♦ Control. EZ wants control over his life, his body, and his emotions. He believes that he can gain this by figuring out the Warrior's Control his father preached about.
fears ♦ Losing to the anger.
overall personality ♦ Though it may seem that Ezekiel wants nothing more than to be a warrior like his tribe wants, he wants nothing to do with it. He considers himself to be a loner who, while he enjoys going out and having fun with other people, prefers to live a full life not bound by any ancient and outdated laws or other people. While against the family tradition, EZ does see the benefits in the training of his family and maintains the training regiment that he learned from a young age. To his dislike and discomfort, he sometimes finds his body moving on its own and jumping in to be the the protector due to the lesson installed into him as a child.
Ezekiel has always been a risk taker willing to face an challenge that crosses his path. Due to this and his horrible impulse control, EZ has ended up in trouble with the law on quite a few occasions due to partaking in some risky and, what some might consider, illegal activities. He wishes that he could say no, but his body and his mind just immediately moves into action.
Thanks to his family and his hippopotamus side, EZ has a serious anger issue. He loses control and sees red. He forgets his surrounding and goes on the attack. When he This caused for serious issues, especially when he began to show signs of shifting. Now when he loses control, his other side, Emem, gains it which allows for a 3.5 ton rage influenced hippo on the loose.
His lack of control in basically all aspects of his life has cause him to want nothing more to be in control of himself. His family training hasn't helped him, and no matter what he does he is bound to lose control. So far, EZ has discovered that he can gain some measure of control by using marijuana or mood stabilizing drugs. As it is the more enjoyable choice, EZ goes with the weed. While under the influence, it helps for him to relax and keep his questionable aspects in line. These are also the few times that when he transforms he is actually at peace and able to control his animal side.
the history
father ♦ Abraham, Deceased
mother ♦ Clarice , 43, Historian
siblings ♦ Unknown
important people ♦ None
hometown ♦ Seattle, Washington
overall history ♦ Ezekiel's family can track it's lineage back to some of the oldest tribes of people in Africa. Their family was known for their strength on the battlefield and skills as warriors. What drove them to be some of the best, were their ability to shift into one of Africa's oldest beast, the Hippopotamus. Trying to always be the best, the tribe began to control the births. Marrying the strongest, fiercest, and biggest every generation more tens of thousands of years led to the birth of the tribes' greatest warrior, Ezekiel's father Abraham.
Tasked with going to America, Abraham left his home country and traveled across the world to fulfill the mission assigned to him. Unfortunately, for the tribe, he fell in love with Clarice. After marrying her in America and bringing her back home to his tribe they decided to start a family which led to the tribes' biggest mistake, Ezekiel. Gifted with what was predicted by the shamans as the strongest form that has ever come from the tribes' long line, EZ was at first consider a god send. But soon it was discovered that with this great gift came a curse, a burning anger inside this young boy that seemed like there was no answer for. At the 5, EZ's parents for forced to flee the tribe to protect their child and went back to Clarice hometown of Seattle.
The next 10 years of his life was spent training underneath his father, learning the long history of his tribe, the ancient laws that they lived by. He trained day in and day out in their fighting style but no matter how much discipline his father tried to install into him, his anger would always raise its ugly head. Constantly in trouble with school authorities for out burst in class or doing something reckless on a dare, Ezekiel was shifted around from school to school until eventually his only option was home schooling.
One night, on a reckless dare, EZ ended up in the county lock up for destruction of property. This night will forever be one of his biggest regrets. Unbeknownst to Abraham and Ezekiel, the tribe was tracking the two of them down in order to erase the tribes failure. On this night, they had found Abraham. Killed by his own tribe for the crime of falling in love and trying to protect his family, Abraham was ripped from this world. This drove EZ into a riot when he learnt of the news. Shifting into Emem, the rampage was devastating and a mystery to the Seattle police department as they couldn't explain how a hippo escaped.
Without his father to help curb his tendencies, EZ spiraled downwards and began to get into more trouble for his anger and reckless behavior. Eventually becoming to much for his mother to handle, EZ left Seattle and her behind to began traveling around the country searching for methods of control. With no real skills except for fighting, EZ made his away by doing random task around cities and towns earn what little money he could to support himself. But no matter what, something would come up and eventually cause him to lose control and have to abandon what ever place he was in.
Through his travels, EZ tried every method to control his anger but none seemed to work except for submitting to drugs. This helped kept him under control for a few years as he continued his nomadic voyage through the country. Eventually ending up in New Orleans, were he had one of his most devastating shifts. But this time, he was stopped by the many forces that call New Orleans home. Written off as a danger to himself and those around him, he was quickly placed into Monroeville. Being held against his will, so far as he believed, and having loss what little control over his life he had, EZ rebelled against the staff and created unrest. Forced to take harder measures on this difficult patient, the doctors had to lock him in a secure area and must constantly maintain either strict regiment of mood stabilizers or have him constantly be watched by those with ability to block powers . EZ has spent the last three years living his life in a cell and barely aware of his surroundings.
