how the ability works ♦ Grey's ability is density manipulation. Simply put, he is able to effect the density of himself to one of two extremes. He is able to increase the density, hereby creating a heavier weight, and an increased strength.The other extreme, he can decrease the density of his body and become much lighter, much faster, and much more nimble. Depending on how he uses this ability depends on the drawbacks of having it. If he comes very dense, he becomes much slower than he might typically be. He must increase his food intake, he'll sleep more often, and become more prone to fixating on negative thoughts. If he uses his ability to become less dense, he'll go through increased energy, lack of appetite, racing thoughts and poor impulse control. The more he uses the ability, the more it will mimic bipolar disorder.

He does also work at an auto shop in New Orleans, a way of paying the bills between fights. He's still relatively new to the boxing circuit, so it's difficult to find fights at times. Grey enjoys clothes and looking nice when he's out of the ring or the shop. Most of his work clothes are coated in grease and torn from various fights with engines. When not at work, Grey is usually at the gym working out with friends or by himself and listening to music. Grey's most distinguishing feature would be the various scars on his hands from punching walls when he was a kid, and then from punching other kids when that didn't work.

overall personality ♦ Grey is a loving man, enjoying time with friends and family. Grey is a social guy, enjoying time at bars and clubs over quiet nights at home. He's a nice guy, often defending friends while they're out. Grey is a protector, no one understanding that more than his sister. He would do anything for her, and that is reflected in how he treats his close friends as well. He is kind, compassionate, but he will also knock out someone out for them quickly. He loves laughter, he loves being outside or going out to get something to eat with people he loves, but he has a very deep understanding that he will do anything for them. That dedication has gotten him into some trouble when he was younger. Once he was able to learn how to throw a proper punch (curtesy of Carver) he got into even more trouble but with much fewer broken bones in his hand. His willingness to defend his friends is also reflected in his dedication to vegan life. He loves animals and spends a lot of time volunteering at animal shelters and creating vegan alternatives of some of his family recipes for his sisters and friends.

Grey was born in Bridgetown, Barbados to loving parents. When he was two years old, he was given a baby sister to terrorize. The two of them were able to quickly combine their terror and became quite the handful for their parents. They were able to explore the island, learn how to swim in the waters, climb mountains and trees. They had a very active upbringing and spend most of their time together. When Grey was about twelve, he was able to begin doing strange things. He would be able to focus on himself and make his entire body light as air. He would be able to be picked up and tossed around by his friends for fun. When he would regain his typical body weight, he had incredible energy. He would go days without sleeping, just filled with racing thoughts and high energy. He would start projects and flit to something else, he would rush around and do whatever he wanted or whatever felt like a good idea at the time. When he would use his ability to the other extreme, he would come down from it feeling exhausted. He would curl up in his bed for days on end, he would find it difficult to eat or drink. His parents and sister couldn't get him out of bed. This went on until he was fifteen, when his parents did the only thing they could think of to help him. Grey was picked up by orderlies and brought kicking and screaming to Monroeville Hospital.

Monroeville Hospital
At fifteen, Grey was shipped from Barbados to New Orleans, Louisiana. Monroeville was a horrible experience for him, especially since he was able to quickly gain control over his ability, but he was not able to convince the higher ups about that. Grey spent from fifteen to nineteen in Monroeville Hospital, hating everything that made him who he was. He would get into fights with other kids, usually breaking his hands in the process. He never had to turn to violence when he was with his family, so it was a new experience that opened up something for him. He would focus his density in his fists and be able to land some legendary hits on people. When he was nineteen, he thought that it was just a typical day with nothing special, until he saw his mom in the hallway standing with the therapist he had been working with. His mom made arrangements where he would be able to leave, pending a bed at Phalanx House. His mom was forceful and able to get him out of the hospital. He had a painful goodbye with the friends that he had made there, but he was ready to be out and be back with his family and a place where he would be able to walk around.

Phalanx House
At nineteen, Grey moved into Phalanx House full time with his sister. After all of the theatrics with his ability, he found out that his sister had her own abilities that she was working on gaining control over. It was at Phalanx that Grey learned how to fight properly, how to gain control over his ability, and how to not experience the bipolar type symptoms as severely. It was at Phalanx he found a new home and was able to make new friends, was able to have a good life for him and his sister, and also where he started to figure out who he wanted to be. While living at Phalanx, he was able to get a job working as a mechanic nearby, he was able to learn how to fight, and he was able to learn how to fully control his ability. No more getting a cold and suddenly weighting nearly a ton. No more having a good day and suddenly getting caught up by a strong wind. After some time working at the shop, and a few nights of fights, he was able to save up for an apartment all his own nearby. He had made some truly close friends while at Phalanx, but he was excited to have a place of his own.

New Orleans, Louisiana
At twenty-five, Grey was able to move out of Phalanx and into his own home. He implored his sister to move with him, but she declined, claiming she would be able to live on her own soon enough. Grey continues to keep in touch with members of Phalanx House, anything to keep ties with that family. He also grew a special connection with Carver while he was learning how to fight, and with JaeHyun. During one of his visits, Grey met a new teacher at the school, she was beautiful, smart, and he completely fell in love with her. They dated, Grey was deeply in love with her. Which is what made it hurt all the more when she broke up with him. She didn't give much of a reason, and Grey couldn't believe it. He wanted to marry her, love her forever, and she left him. Grey has been trying to get his life back together, and spending time with his sister, his friends, and his fights have helped with all of that.
